About Title III

The Two Major Focuses of Title III:
  • Converting current courses into online courses
  • Effectively integrating "advanced" technology into traditional courses
The Three-Pronged Approach:

Center For Teaching & Learning
The Center For Teaching & Learning is a resource center for full-time and adjunct faculty. Resources available through the center include:
  • Literature
  • Web sites
  • Listservs
  • One-on-one sessions
  • Peer support/problem-solving groups
  • Faculty mentoring
  • Demonstration of instructional techniques and applications
  • Funds for professional travel

Summer Institutes
The Summer Institutes give faculty a chance to become students and gain valuable and useful skills in technology. Participation is voluntary and is limited to 15 faculty (combination of full-time and adjunct) in each Institute. There will be one Institute each summer beginning 2002. A stipend award of $1500 is available for participation in the Institutes.

Course Review & Technology Enhancement
Course Review & Technology Enhancement encompasses the application of the Center for Teaching & Learning resources in the development of an online course or the integration of advanced technology into a traditional course.

Mini grants will be available during Year 4 and Year 5 of the Title III grant. Theses grants reward faculty for integrating technology into their courses. See the Mini-Grant Proposal for more information.
